Sacred Writing Journey

A 19-Day Creative and Spiritual Exploration

Twice a year, we gather in community for the Sacred Writing Journey — a guided experience
that weaves meditation, reflection, and writing to help us listen more deeply, awaken our voices, and explore the stories we carry.

This journey is offered:

  • Spring Session: March 2–20 (leading to the Spring Equinox)

  • Fall Session: September 21–23 (a shorter, 3-day immersion leading into the Fall Equinox)

(Times announced closer to each offering)

This is not a program about writing it “right.”
It is a space to slow down, to listen to your inmost essence and the mysteries beyond, and to
receive what is seeking to be expressed through you.

Week One – Silence, Propensities, and Patterns

Breaking Free with Love and Awareness

Inspired by Audre Lorde’s reminder that “your silence will not protect you,” and Pema Chödrön’s teachings on patterns and tendencies, we begin by gently exploring the internal structures that shape our lives.

Together, we look at:

  • The many forms of silence — chosen, imposed, protective, and limiting

  • The propensities and patterns we have inherited or developed

  • The ways these patterns influence how we respond to ourselves, our stories and the world.

Purpose:
To become aware of how silence and patterns shape the stories we tell about our lives — and to open space for more conscious, compassionate, and intentional responses.

Meditation is central to this journey — not as a rigid practice, but as an invitation to awaken to what is.

There is no “perfect” way to meditate here. A busy mind is welcome. A restless body is welcome. Everything that arises is part of the practice.

Through meditation and the playful Circle Writing Practice, we begin to:

  • Observe our thoughts, emotions, and sensations without judgment

  • Recognize the stories we tell about ourselves and others

  • Notice how these stories have shifted — and continue to shift — over time

As awareness deepens, we begin to see that what once felt fixed may actually be fluid.

Purpose:
To cultivate presence and awareness as a foundation for creativity, and to loosen our attachment to old narratives so new possibilities can emerge.

Week Two –The Practice of Now

Awareness, Presence, and Shifting Narratives

Week Three – Seeking Through Not Knowing

Questions, Curiosity, and the Emergent Narrative

In our final week, we shift into a posture of inquiry.

Drawing from writers and sacred traditions, we practice writing not from certainty, but from curiosity — allowing questions to guide us into deeper truth.

Together, we explore:

  • What it means to write from not knowing

  • How sincere questions can open new insight

  • The connection between our personal stories and the larger social realities we are part of

As we release the need to have the answers, something new begins to take shape — an emergent narrative that is more honest, expansive, and alive.

Purpose:
To move beyond inherited or fixed interpretations of our lives and into a living process of
discovery, where new meaning can unfold.

A Living Practice

The Sacred Writing Journey is about entering into a relationship with yourself, your lived experience, and the deeper truths waiting to be discovered.

Invitation

If you feel called to explore your voice, your story, and your creative process more deeply, we invite you to join us.

This is a space where:

  • There is no pressure to perform – we play, we create, we discover

  • There is no “right” way to write

  • There is a focus on awakening, seeking, and yearning, creativity
